I just ordered the TTR upper and lower mounts and received them today. In the upper mount install instructions it says that the 2-18mm bolts for the mount should be discarded and locate new ones from your GM dealership? Do I really need to buy these?
Well I called the dealer and I think I got the right 2 bolts ordered because they were not in stock. They're 12mm bolts, with a 1.75 pitch and 55mm in length. I asked him if those were right and he said he wouldn't know why the other 2 bolts (the ones that hold the bracket?) would be the right ones. Could you you guys help me out to make sure I ordered the right ones??
Thanks

i used my stock bolts for my aftermarket mount.
sounds like you ordered the wrong bolts since it says 18mm in instructions and you ordered 12mm

You know what is funny. I had the something similar happen to me when I replaced mine. I called the dealership in town, talked to service. They were like.... "what you want? A motor mount?", me... "No, I just need the 18mm bolts that bolt the mount to the engine." him.... "Theres no such thing, come in and we will install it" me.... "No I just want the bolts" him... "you have to order the whole mount and the bolts, because the mount bolts directly to the radiator." me...."This is for a 03' cavalier." him.... "Yes sir, do you even know what a motor mount looks like? This is standard for all cavalier powertrain" me.... "What are you talking about, nevermind, appreciate the "expert" advice there"

*click* Mind you that this is a certified GM repair facility... this same dealership tried to void my warrenty 1 month after i bought my car because my windows were tinted... otherwise a stock car.... because my 5th gear syncro went out (that didn't go far LOL)...... So I just used the stock bolts with locktite. Not all dealerships are the same.
I also used stock bolts with no problem.
