To install HO Manifold or not?

This is the car with mods in question

http://www.j-body.org/members/suicide/cars/3/

Im wondering i should install my Extrude Honed HO Mani and 56 mm TB for the track coming up, just waiting for my OEM spacer to install it or not

Im worried about losing all my low end power

The track is only a 1/8 mile track also

Im wondering with the HO cams would the HO Mani really help alot?

Im also going to be adding my cutout before the races to open up the exhaust

Feelings?

LO

I hear they work out a LOT better for that kinda thing, mind you, I'm a LN2 guy, so I'm just going from Hear-Say.

i think you should hold off on swapping it because of how you have to mod the @!#$. get the 086 head, mod it and do it right the first time. which i should have done.

So long as you have a 2.3/2.4 phenolic adaptor, or a LD9 aluminum flange welded on to ensure a perfect port match... it'll help.

Otherwise, don't do it. Waste of time and it will cost you power without the proper manifold to head match.

Slowly but surely may some day win this race...

I dont think that the manifold will cut down too much on the low end power it will def help your setup breath. However the HO cams arent so good for low end and an exhaust cutout will also take away from the bottom end of the power range. That being said with the HO cams and a proper launch you should make up for it on the top end. Just make sure like everyone else said that you make sure the ports are matched between the head and the manifold, be it through a spacer, another flange, or what not.

Im going to use a OEM spacer i just received today

I wanna take advantage of the larger TB aswell as the nice and smooth interior of the extrude honed HO mani

I think i shall swap this in on the weekend

Do you believe i will need to also swap in my 310 CC injectors?

Where are people getting these new flanges to weld to the HO mani's?

I didnt use a flange I had an adaptor. I since swapped to an 086 head so there is no need for an adaptor for me. I think most people get 1 off flanges made for way more than most would want to spend. If you already have the injectors I say put them in since you have the HO cams in there.
