Toss a K&N filter on the end and it will be perfectly fine.

A pipe's a pipe. Buy 2 and make it a real CAI.
Paying someone to install parts and bragging about it being fast, is like watching someone bang your wife and being proud to raise their kids.
lol.it's a fine intake.it really does'nt matter what intake you get,it's a piece of tube and a filter....
i was thinking the same thing with the K&N. i have another 02 LS SPORT with it and its great, even improved MPG to 37 !!
The tube is very shiny, I'd buy it.

I actually have this intake myself, I didnt pay as much and I bought the black one.
Definatley wasnt a bolt on and go type thing. Had to modify the bracket so it would rattle and had to change the hole for the iat sensor.

Wondering about this actually. What differs the K&N cone filter from say a no-name "Spectre" cone filter??
K&N uses oil saturated surgical cotton as a filtering medium instead of paper. This allows more air to pass threw it easier. Plus it is washable and one filter will last 10 times longer than a normal filter. My best argument for K&N is just take one of each filter and breath threw it.
K&N is the only filter i use.

that second one doesn't even look like its long enough, plus how does it connect to the throttle body, there is no elbow
~Jeff
it looks like the part where the elbow should be is where the filter is

They actually sell short ram intakes on ebay that clamp to the stock air box, so make sure it's long enough and comes with an elbow.

Get one that looks like the very first one you picked, looks just like mine. It's real simple to put on. The only thing you may have to do is modify the sensor grommit in the future.

Yeah that should work. And for $20 a piece just order 2, and make a CAI.

$20 a piece plus $20 for shipping, unless you buy 2, then it would be $35 for shipping. Go for 2 of the first one. they are identical, and you would be saving a few bucks
