hey guys, i post this in the newbies section..but nobody helped me out any..so hopfully some can help here..i have a 98 cav. 2.2l auto. its a circle track car...when i go to rev it up, it spits and sputters and sounds like it misses until i give it more gas then it revs fine..i have a brand new fuel pump in it and filter..could it be an injector frozen up or something??plz let me know guys!!
maybe spark plug, wire, or coil pack
I'd say coil packs.
Now swap it to a 5 speed, lighten that pig up and go kick some honda @ss!
ok i have a new update on the cars problem now..i have brand new plugs and wires on it..and switched coil packs..it has fuel and spark...it only cuts out and pops when i slowly start to give it gas, then after a certain point it revs fine...but if i just stomp on the gas real fast it revs fine..could this simply just be the motor trying to relearn everything again..cause this was a junkyard motor..my good motor is at the machine shop...so plz lmk!!
P.S- our rules suck! all the cars have to be automatic! which is horrible..but the car is extremely light..i will try and get it weighed sometime to see what it actually weighs compared to your 5 speed car Mr. Efficiency.
Do you have a B&M Shift Plus or AutoTrans Interceptor
everything on the car is an auto..thats the way it came and nothing was changed for the trans..besides when i had it rebuilt this winter
