ok...well, after searching, and only finding 2 threads, none of which actually had proof, one had a link to another forum that no longer works , what exactly is ev eryone's take on this? if some1 wants to run higher boost and race gas and e85 is not available, do you guys think this is a good idea? how streetable is it? i have a big fear of building my engine, and setting up my turbo, only to find out i need more than 93 octane, so, this is something i was beginning to think about.

E85 on stock PCM is not worth it as we don't have access to the stoich command tables and you will need more injector than what you will need than with regular pump gas. As for meth, its great until you run out. If you plan on running it, you need to make sure its always filled. If its not, you will blow the motor to pieces. As for needing anything more than 93 octane, you should not if tuned properly.

well, i'm hoping to put 9.5 to 1 cr and i wanted to go a bout 15 lbs of boost, and everyone and their mother(except one 2200 driver on here) says it will neverr work on 93...i really need to learn about tuning...i don't want some1 to tune for me ,but i don't know anything about it yet...how can you make sure you don't need more than 93 with that setup?(not looking for a whole tune file, just the basic idea of what would happen to make it work)

Well Skunk is running 25+psi from a Precision 6262 on 10:1cr on 110 octane.

Proper tuning and you'll be able to.

It can be done, but IMHO stock compression (9:1) will be just fine. As for your boost #, it really doesn't mean squat because you are not providing any turbo specs...

With Ethanol you need to run about 33% more fuel than gasoline. With Methanol I believe you need to be about 50% more.

lol, ok, i was going over my pages of what i wanted to do with my car, and my idea has changed since then, so that turbo setup doesn't even work...i gotta look at em again and see which one would work best.

haha, i'm getting a 5 spd for that. there's one down in florida i'm looking to buy...just gotta wait till i can get it here. it has a 2200, it'll get swapped. this car i'm building up the 2200 just to see how much i can get out of it. then after i build my engine, and it goes on me, i have different plans for this car...hehe...can't wait. it'll be a few years down the road, but original, and fun.
