Looking for a test subject

I am just about ready to start on this direct port intake manifold but I need a test subject. I can not run this on my car as I am still using the blower manifold. If there is anyone out there that would like to run this manifold and get some dyno numbers I am all ears. For the discount, your looking at 12% off just for putting it on your car, writing a review and getting some dyno numbers. I am opening it up to 2.4, eco or even a 2.2 guy.

what would cost be for 92-97 LN2 one? I'm willing to be a guinea pig.

If you have one for N/A Eco, I would gladly test it out for you if I can have the item and you pay for shipping. Since this is an untested item, and there is no way to know if it will damage an engine... 12% off isn't really worth the risk of blowing an engine or causing damage, free parts seem fair for full beta testing of an item. I can provide dyno sheets (before and after if needed) and 1/4 times with video and pictures of everything including a full how to on the install.

12% Are you serious...That is probably less then the shipping cost...I agree with Dan on this. For this type of part, you don't buy it to test it.....just another example of the lack of business knowledge at OEM.. This company goes further down hill everyday...

im gonna have to agree with Ecocav on this one...

there is nothing saying that its not gonna cause irreversable damage and honestly think about it...if we are still working on cavaliers and sunfires then 99% of us dont have the money to replace a motor or internals if they get shot to hell...

that being said i got a 2.2 turbo eco that if u give me the protoype that would used then ill gladly do the review...i need a tune anyway and have the dyno time set so that would just be one thing to toss on before hand...

or maybe along with say a 50% discount u could pay for our time to set up the dyno time and get it tested....we would still be doing all the leg work ur asking for and ur getting the bill covered for ur product...

just my $.02

have someone pay you for their legwork of R&D on your manifold, sounds perfect, sign me up. how bout send me a manifold, pay for tuning, ill do the labor of installs for free, you get all the info you need to be selling these on motors and vehicles you would otherwise have limited to no access to.

im located near st. louis where ryan of p&p tuning is stationed and he has vast knowledge of tuning j's with hpt. i already have hpt so no added costs there, just his time and mine. id be willling to do this with the w41 cammed 2.4 or the fully built eco.

not a single brand that produces anything for us backs their stuff with dyno proof. the way i see it, u do that and no one will have reason to buy any other manifold out there in turn u own that market.

pm me if interested or if you have any details you would like to run over. that 12% your offering doesnt even sound appealing if this was a gp for the manifolds.
also pm me if you want more info on the eco setup, its not listed in my profile.

Dam some of you guys are quick to bash, while I agree 12%off is weak for someone who is going to do all the work and paying to do test a product and dyno. I think it should be free under the conditions that they return said product when done if they don't want to keep it.

The Manifold is setup for direct port nitrous use I take it given the description not an N/A manifold. How many of you even are running a dp nitrous setup? Honestly do you think an engine manifold will cause the motor to crap out? I can see running into possible vacuum leaks, loss in power or someone messing up the jetting on their kit and popping the motor. Hell maybe you should check the intake manifold to make sure it's been de-burred before installing it just in case, unlike an Issue I recall with Vulcan a earlier this year, where a bad manifold got out that shouldn't have been shipped. I just hope they find someone who has the knowledge to tune/install and get the request done, if not I'm sure he has no problem waiting till he's done with the M62/Quad mani.

I understand people are all upset (or joining the bandwagon) over the strut mount issues he has had, but how many of you has this effected personally? Poop happens and he didn't run away like IZNTRBL at least he is help work through the issue's, and he still wants to develop more parts for a dead platform....oh well

Any numbers/testing results from the iontake manifold on that Turbo Ecotec?

My remarks have nothing to do with his busted strut mounts. If you read the threads, I even defended him and his mounts.

My concern is we are testing an untested item, paying for a dyno ($150 - $200) and doing all the install / removal of the item, and writing a full review of the item, for what... $10 to $50 off on an item? Doesn't sound worth it to me. Why would someone spend $200 on the dyno to save $50 on the product?

If people are willing to do that, I have this "power potato" that you can test for me, it will only cost you $100 to test it.

I want power potato...

I would be interested in testing this for a '96 2.2.

BUT,

%12 is weak, so unless there is a better deal for what would come out of my pocket, count me out until they are made, tested, dynoed, and reviewed..

I've done testing for a parts. Depending on what the price was going to be to begin with. Like around $500 and below i got the part for free. I never got less than 50% off. And the problem i could see with blowing the motor up. I don't think would happen though. As long as the intake runners and such were the same with each other. But with direct port there is very little to cause problems. Unlike running like a fogger or plate. Where puddling could occur.

i think a deposit system would be good, where u make a deposit of say 50% of the retail cost, and if u dont like it/dont want it, u get ur deposit back and send it away, btu if u wanna keep it after testing and installing and reviewing, they keep ur 50% and u get it half off for ur effort

Mark,

You know you have my 2200 in Tampa. The IPT rebuild kit comes in today and should be about a week out from having the tranny done, the new 3" down pipe and exhaust.

The only question I have for you is if you need my car in longwood or if I can just meet up again and grab it from you. Once the tranny and exhaust are finished it is going back to the tuner to get the final tune with the new 650cc injectors and a higher wastegate spring.

This would be the perfect time to add in the intake manifold because I already have everything for the nitrous set up minus the nozzles.
