aftermarket muffler for a 01 cavalier.. HELP

hey guys

i am just about to replace my stock muffler over for a aftermarket muffler and just looking for some help on what one to buy. i have a 01 cav 2200 and looking for something along the lines of nice and deep sound but kinda a bit loud. i dont want a round style muffler, just a muffler that i can weld a tip to. i had a magnaflow muffler but it wasnt that loud at all, so been thinking either a vibrant or a flowmast delta 40 or obx, ractive, apc.

price is not a issue but dont want to buy a cat-back due to the price and kinda building a house

so i am looking for something to make a little noise.

i would appreciate your help.

thanks

chris

i have a chambered magnaflow, the 'oval' kind, and its unreal, that being ssaid i also have a 18" glasspack and 2.25 all the way back, but its a sweet muffler, exactly the low tone and nice volume when u punch ti that i wanted. Id try it, unless that was the same one u didnt like

check out walker high flow mufflers also put a cherry bomb glass pack after your cat........nice low tone and then when you floor it, it sounds sooooo good....no raspy crap

Im running a dynomax super turbo on my 02 2200 auto, just to replace the rotten falling off one. To be honest im surprised by the sound at idle it has a deep rich tone and when it upshifts you get a nice higher pitched whine. im planning on putting a header and a 2 1/2 " downpipe with a cherrybomb glasspack in place of my resonator and cat. Yes its an auto but it is just for the wife to rip around on. You can put a bracket after the muffler on the pipe going out to the bumper. It would bolt up to a bracket that sits behind the bumper. Ask your local muffler shops it cost me 120 installed including the muffler. Get to know your muffler shops and become friends with them. Chances are you can work out a deal, like helping them do it on a friday after work.

I'm getting a Flowmaster 50 series, (the big SUV muffler) on my 2200. Between that and the turbo, I don't think raspy sound will be an issue. It should sound nice and deep, louder than stock, but not loud enough to get police attention. I'll let you know how that sounds tomorrow when it's done.

Last week I had the garage put a full 2.5" catback on my Saab. I told them I didn't want any glasspacks so they used a cherry bomb as a resonator and capped it off with a 3 chamber dynomax muffler. It's quieter than stock, zero rasp, and the turbo spools a bit quicker.
