I have a 97 5-speed z24 and it done threw rod number 3. I was wondering how to drop a 2.2 out of say a 95-97 into it. Will you need to swap computers or what? Will I need the 2.2 tranny or will the motor bolt to mine?
Youll need everything that goes with the 2.2.
Trans
Clutch
Engine Mounts
Wiring Harness
PCM
obviously exhaust work
For the price of all that i bet you can find a cheap 2.4 and swap it in though. At least around where i live that would be the case

jesus... ive seen good used ld9's go for $150!!!!!
why in god's name would you want to do this swap? i cant for the life of me think of one reason save for insanity.
I must confess... I feel like a monster!
I know in Fl LD9's are going for over $1000 with over 100k on them.
As said you would need motor, tranny, axles, ECU, and wiring harness, and exhaust manifold and downpipe.

Cause the 2.2 will last longer lol, but yea throwing a used ld9 would be much easier. I just finished my Z and the engine cost me ..... $0.00, but thats just me

wow. time to drive to iowa,, bring 600 and pick up three. you'd still spend less even w/ gas costs.

is rod 3 just the most common to go? I have heard so many times people throwing that rod, me included...
Usually, because of the poor oiling in the area.
YA deff come to iowa for a cheap LD9......just dont take them all or we will find you in the corn!!!!
