Help with injen intake
Saturday, October 24, 2009 9:08 PM
Hey org,i need some help.A few months ago i bought an injen intake off a member here, well i have it on,but it sits to high, its rubbing the insulation on the hood.
So this is where i need your help, anybody have a close up pic of how its supposed to mount to the tb on a 2.4?
Right now i have a coupler between the tb and intake, but from what i can see on the net,its set up different, its hard to find a clear pic of how injen designed it to mount.
So if anybody can help me out i would appreciate it.

I had a ractive intake and it did the exaxt same thing....2 years later with the s/c and a modified intake with no rubbing you can still see the indent in the insulation on the hood from the old intake. Not sure if its a common thing but it happened to me, I wasn't too worried about it cause it wasn't hitting the hood.

u probly need to
a: cut the coupler down an inch or so that attaches to the tb
b:cut the aluminum tubing that goes into the coupler and inch or so.

i had to do this with mine or my hood would'nt shut properly.

you could always just remove the insulation from your hood......

Does this work?

much better thank you
you sure the rubber seal is all the way over the TB and the metal coupler is in the rubber seal?

Yeah its tight around the tb,but as you can see i cant cut the rubber anymore,if i can lower the pipe over the tb then it might not rub as bad.
I just want to see how injen designed it in the first place.

And insulation stays, need to fix the intake, not the insulation.

did u just bump ur thread in the same day? lol
try cutting the plastic that's going into the coupler if u can't cut the coupler. just my suggestion. and i'm just telling u what i had to do with mine, which was'nt an injen so u might wanna find another solution bfore having to cut the actual intake piping, but that's what i had to do.
