Aluminum 6061-T6, not steel for intake flange!

Id like to use aluminum but my cheap crappy MIG in combination with my crappy wielding skills can just barely wield steel. I want to play with ITB's but im under a budget, paying someone to wield aluminum for me would kill my funds. I already own the throttlebodies I just need to connect them to my head.

just remember steel rusts!
do you want rust going inside your engine?
thats why forced indiction people use aluminum or stainless for intake fabrication

I had thought about that but I also thought if i could construct a steel one cheaply for moch up and playing with tuning, later when I have more money I could take it somewhere and have an aluminum one made using this as a template.

Im not sure, they are gsxr 1000 throttlebodies. Could be aluminum. Im not planning on wielding them to the flange though. I want the runners to snugly fit into the ends of the TBs and I will use couplers to hold them together.

do what paul did... chop off a LO flange, port it to head, use rubber connectors and make brackets to hold the tb's in place.

worked for him but the tuning is the issue...

how u planning on tuning?

I must confess... I feel like a monster!
