Warm Air to Cold Air

What is the best way to convert my AEM warm air intake to a cold air intake? Also, I just picked up a header today and I was wondering about how much time I should expect it to take to install it?

The best way would be to add more pipe to the wai, thus making it a cai.
Try using the search tool that is provided on this forum free of charge, you will be amazed at the amount of information it can provide.

I mean, just a quick search on wai to cai came up with this - http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.php?f=2&i=444283&t=444236#444283

If you have never done it before, and are doing it alone - 5 to 6 hours
If you have done it before or have knowledge - 3 - 4 hours.
If your a moron, and can't put gas in your car, 18 - 19 hours, then putting it back to stock 13 - 14 hours, then paying someone who knows how to do it 3 -4 hours.

We did 3 header installs in one day, while having a BBQ and drinking. Not very hard to do at all.

thanks for that link that's exactly what I was looking for. and yea I have a little knowledge about the header but I'm doing it with a friend of mine who has installed numerous headers already. I'm hoping to do it in about 3 hrs. also, I only have the header, so I need a gasket and a downpipe yet. is the easiest thing to do buy pipng and make my own downpipe?

Though yours is a 2.4, its the same basic idea. If you can weld, it wont be an issue, just make sure to use a good flex pipe if you don't have the ball/socket joint.

Chances are you have a 4-1 header and chances are even greater it has a ball joint/ flex joint on it already.

If i were you i would find pacesetters part number for JUST there down pipe for the LD9s and use that. Because chances are you dont want to spend the rest of the month waiting for parts. but when you get the downpipe you will also need the 2-bolt flange to hold it on and 2 nuts and bolts long enough to connect everything together.

Your best bet is to send pacesetters an email asking for JUST the extra bits to there LD9 header but not the header. they should be kind enough to help you out.

Best of luck to you.

ok thanks for the advice I will try to email pacesetter this weekend. if for some reason I cant get the downpipe, is it pretty much pointless to install the header to my stock downpipe?
