Okay so I have read a lot about eco swaps and I have read a lot about the ld9 .... I'm going to be picking up a 96 cav 2.4 with a bad tranny and 200,000+ miles for super cheap... I have an eco engine that needs rods and I have a tranny would it be cheaper for me to do that eco swap or sell the motor and trans and rebuild the 2.4 and get a tranny for it? I'm kind of at a stand still after reading about need interior parts to do the swap to eco... I have been out of the jbody game for a bit so any help would be great.
if your up for welding and re wiring the whole car then go for the eco but if not make it simple and stick with the 2.4. its a good motor with some decent power. i dont know you but im pretty sure you know josh 03supercharged so if your looking to do an eco swap on a 96 he is your guy to talk to. i helped him a lil on the car when he did an eco swap on the 96 z24 but he did most of it and could prob help you out up there.
Yeah I sent him a message on facebook and text but I think he is out of town
