Ok so its approaching winter, and Im getting bored, so im thinking about designing something new for the 2200 group.
Like I always do!!!!!
Would there be any interest for a high volume, direct bolt on fuel rail?
Also if you have any other ideas for the 2200, let me know!
I already have:
-valve cover spacer
-fuel pressure regulator bypass block
-2200 log style turbo manifold
-2200 exhaust flange
-rear tie bar
-front k member
-front sub frame
This would be better in the 'interior/exterior' forums I think. Unless I've missed something in the last few months, the fuel rail isn't getting in anyone's way of pushing big numbers...
Stick with these two:
-valve cover spacer
-fuel pressure regulator bypass block

what about us guys with the older LN2? no love again?

If you want to do top-feed, this would work just like a stock 2200 rail would. What else would you want?

great idea. to bad I was asking for one oh say I don't know a year ago and no one was willing to take the challenge. Good luck though. the angle of the injectors is difficult and using fuel rail blanks are a great start. I had 2 custom made and neither worked so I went another way. Fair warning the fun part besides the angle will be the fact that our stock rails but up next to the power steering reservoir and that last injector is not far away from the end of the fuel rail though.
Stock rail working fine for me.... Don't really see the need for one unless its needed when Fetter designes an intake....

I had a 8an bung welded onto where the stock FPR mounted before and I use this as my supply side now and I used a quick connect adapter on the original supply side as my return and looks perfectly fine to me.
Modified and fully polished my rail as well. It's
more than capable of supporting almost anyone's horsepower numbers, so I'd never consider changing it.

He said one was in the works... He can use my car all he wants.... As soon as the tranny gets back in it, its going to sit until Spring anyway..

Sorry as well for the thread jack
Phil,
IMO I think you and every other machinist on the .org should really offer a replacement intake manifold for the 2200's. The buisness is there if you could keep production cost around $500 because you know none of us are oil tycoons. Think about it

This is something RD Fabs has actually considered. Having to incorporate injector ports just makes it slightly more time consuming/tedious to make. It's definitely an idea we'd like to follow through on at some point. If people are interested, though, that could always push it to the top of the list!

Do a feeler! I have a set of injectors you can have for the mock up, I would be more than willing to give you a deposit to get this thing started. I would be more than willing to send you a throttle body to bolt to it (LT1/LS1). Hell I would even be willing to go out and buy a blank fuel rail and a stock full intake manifold with rail, injectors and throttle body.
lol well im sure I could do it and deff. for under $500
I already modeled/detailed the intake flange with the injector bungs, and the throttle body flange.
So I would just have to mock up some runners!
lol and for the record im an engineer not a machinist!
there aren't many young guys that want to be a machinist,to bad cuz it's becoming a dying trade.

My favorite part of my enginering schooling was working in the machine shop
It really should be integrated into the curriculum if they want to have designs coming out which can actually be produced lol.

My bad on the machinist comment. Let me know if you want to make me a intake manifold and what you need from me to get this going.
