Does anybody have any information sumping a J's pre 99? metal tank? I think I'm going to run an external A1000 with a -10AN line from a sump in the metal baffled tank. Thoughts? Concerns? Possible? Been Done?

WOW, sumped a plastic tank huh? He is badass. I'm looking more to the metal tank since it would be easier to weld and it is already baffled.

It could be done no problem, just like any other metal tank. I think the issue your going to have is the sump hanging too low. I know the tank on our cars isn't exactly tucked up into the body.
If i were going to sump one of our tanks i would probably more or less just square off the back of the tank. Only dropping the sump enough to be the low point. That will give you a good spot for your fittings and still retain ground clearance.
Another thing to consider is our tanks are flat and wide and that pump moves a lot of fuel. Its would be easy to starve that pump under long or hard breaking. Especially with anything less than a 1/4 tank.

Before you go with the A1000 be sure you know what your getting into. If you plan on running on the street or will have the pump running over 30min. at a time you'll want to look at spending another $250-300 for the digital controller to keep from burning the pump up.
Personally I'm looking at replacing my Aeromotive 11106 pump (not intended for use over 65psi. with 19 pounds of boost I'm right on that edge.) with a
http://www.fuelab.com/ pump. Click on the Tech Support tab to download an install pdf. and look at how to wire a High/Low switch to control for strip/street. And they guarantee compatibility with E85. Aeromotive doesn't.

Hmm, ok, Mr. Badass, what do you know about the SX Peformance 18203. It's pretty much a direct equivalent to the A1000 in capacity, but wondering if you know about any known issues? I might pick up the 18207 if I plan on running E85, that would be fun.
