i have a set of 9:1 bore 20 over pistons and i want to get some cams.i was thinking of the secret cams would i have to do anyting to my head and what head gasket wood be good.also going to be running a m62 supercharger
secret cams are so 8 years ago.
throw HO cams in and run with the big boys.
Stand in the corner and SCREAM with me!!!!
No you don't need to change anything in the valvetrain for the secret cams. They are basically plug and play but you won't get the full benefits of them without a tune. But if you are putting an m62 on that won't be an issue. Also, from what I have heard they work great with boost. As for a head gasket I would recommend a Cometic MLS head gasket. Especially if you are boosting. They come in two different thicknesses, one for NA and one for boost. But if you are running lower compression pistons you could get away with either.
Sorry not trying to thread jack or nething but what if you have a built head with LGO cam's and lets say you wanna toss on a supercharger kit and a meth kit what kind of number's would you expect it to make? And its a 97 ld9..

we can play games all day. build said setup, dyno and there is your answer
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
so then what would i have to do for ho cams to make them work
depends...
do you like doing things the right way or the cheap way?

well right now im not thinking cheap
how much r ho cams anyway do u know what has to be done to make them work .do u have cams in yours
I got mine for 45 bucks but that was a long time ago. There are a couple ways to go about it. The cheapest is use the 2.3 cam towers, lifters, and power steering setup, and turn off the code from not using the cam sensor. This will make the car run in batch fire like the old HO engines did anyways instead of the sequential injection the 2.4 has. Then theres the so called correct way...mod the cam with a hex for the 2.4 style power steering, have the 2.4 intake cam tower bored out to accept 2.3 lifters, use 2.3 exhaust cam tower. You can have the cam modded to have a pad for the cam sensor but then you have to used the bored out 2.4 tower. Also you will need the 2.3 HO valve springs and retainers swapped onto the 2.4 head.
is there HO valve springs? i had the parts people at my work(GM dealer) look up HO valve springs. thier computer said all models of the quad 4 used the same valve spring. so i went to alldatapro.com and looked up both vin A (HO) and vin D(LO) and it had the same part number for both engines for the valve springs.
I had heard that but had no proof so I didnt want to say just any old 2.3 spring would work. Good to know though.
90-94 2/3 springs are all the same.
