Quiet exhaust setup, any suggestions?
Sunday, December 06, 2009 3:26 PM
So ive been looking around for my near future exhaust. then people started getting busted left and right for "illegal exhausts" seems the cops are hatin on anyone with a nice sounding vehicle, so i was hoping the JBO could help me peice together a nice quiet exhaust (stock sounding even), 2.25 diameter, least resistance as possible.
Thanks in advance everyone

buy a cheap ebay cat back to get stainless mandrel bent piping, any size you want. then buy a 20 or 25 inch long dynamax thrush turbo muffler and a 31 inch long dynamax thrush glasspack. if you know someone with HPTuners dont run a cat, unless you dont mind a engine light.

i have this set up and it sounds almost stock. its just a lil louder. there will be no farting or rice sound. I GUARANTEE

i have a dynomax superturbo on 2200 S10 ,it's almost like stock when you accelerate it's a little louder but i don't think it's a ticketand it sounds pretty good for cheap.it says it flows over 500 cfm.

Use a long cherry bomb after the cat and pipe that into a three chambered flowmaster. I have the same setup on my 9000 (except it's a dynomax) and I love it. It's quieter and flows better than stock.

Are your cops using dB meters or busting anyone with a non-OEM setup?

yeah im sure shipping to Nova Scotia would be crazy lol. but it depends on what you want to spend for it lol.

i would steer clear of flowmaster, very restrictive when it comes to mufflers. id love to flow test mine for sure just to see how free flowing it really is. it exhales very nicely.

i bought mine at jegs for like 45.00 for muffler only, the cherry bombs are cheaper.
