2200 headwork

ok, so anyone with a 2200 knows the head needs some serious work done to it to start making power...without it, you'll pretty much always be slower than everyone. how much did you guys spend on a pnp and resurfacing? and for those of you with larger valves, how much was the machining for that? looking into how much i should spend, so i know if a shop is trying to rip me off

It's hard to give prices due to costs based on location, but usually, resurfacing a head should be $40-50. Grinding the seats for 1mm oversize valves doesn't take much longer than doing a regular valve job, but most shops will probably charge a bit more because it is "custom" work. As far as porting, I would do some research and find a company who knows the 2200 head and the porting modifications it needs to flow properly. There are a lot of good porting shops out there, but there are also a lot of hacks.

lol I blew brake lines on my daily cavi and had to take my tuner cavi out this weekend to the auto store to get parts ..... mind you the north-eastern storm ..... its took me over 30 minutes to drive 5-7 minutes.
No traction but it handled like a champ!

Actually, a shop that's familiar with BBC is the way to go since the design of the LN2 head mimics it so closely.

Go beyond the "bolt-on".
