You can try SCE gaskets. They make copper gaskets for the Ecotec and some of the 60 deg V6 engines, so they may have something. Their website is here.

Hussey Performance makes a copper HG, (see page 6 of the catalog) Part # SBC-220, designate the bore size and gauge (thickness).

Flatout Gaskets used to make copper headgaskets and a Rubber Coated Copper (RCC), but it is no longer listed in their catalog. Note: on the ninth page of their catalog they list a "2.0L I-4 '87-'90 SOHC RCC COPPER (1)" IIRC may have been the mis-labeled gasket, one of the older catalogs had a diagram of the gasket.

Does Cometic recommend reusing these? I use their head gaskets for demo derby motors and I was told by one of their tech guys not to reuse them under any circumstance.

I and others have re used them before. Obviously, common sense needs to be used and if something does not look right, don't re use it.

At first glance I thought you jacked my picture lol.

Cometic says not to because of a sealant that's put on from the factory which sticks to the head/block. I've heard of a couple DSM guys who had problems, but 95% of the time it seems to be fine. If you're worried, just coat it in copper spray before installation.

FYI: The Cometic MLS HG is for those running the '98+ 2200 head.

Someone adapted it to the 97- though. Wish I remembered who, would have been interesting to see.
