i have an 04 cavalier that i am looking for something to just pep it up a bit like a performance chip any ideas...

Yes. I agree with them. don't go with anything that is pushed for your car outside of HP Tuners. A lot of those contraptions, should you find one obd2 compatible, only seem to make your fuel ratio richer which might give you the illusion of more power, but really doesn't do much in terms of actual tuning and honing.
HP tuners work if you want to tune it yourself
Revtronix will do all the work for you and they'll know their stuff

I believe there was another company that offered software tuning for the ECO pcms a year or two after HPTuners came out. I can't recall the name of it though.
