You should just get one that plugs into the connector under the dash thats what the HPT does it connects to the USB and connects to the port under the dash and then you program the computer through that way without having to take the computer out at all

I own this one. You can clear codes and see real time sensor data with the right software. Proscan version 5.5 will work with the ELM clones, and can be had for free if you know where to look.

Make damn sure you know what your doing before you change anything though.
I know a lot about cars and still dont trust my self completely to tune yet LOL
