no get up and go?
Sunday, April 18, 2010 9:57 PM
So i finally got my 99z24 on the road after swapping in a 2.4ld9 out of a wrecked 99z24 with 50,000 miles. There are two problems though, on my first test drive, it doesn't seem to have very much get up and go, if any, and it's leaking fuel from right behind the driver tires but can't find where it is coming from, i checked the fuel fittings and there is no leak there. any suggestions?

check your fuel rail. make sure you put all your injectors in snug.

It's a LD9 and your car is rejecting it.

dont worry about the negative comments. we dont need to be jerks. comments like those are reasons people dont like this site. just treat the guy with respect and help him out.

well i think i just cracked one of the lines when installing it so i am going to cut the ones off of the old one and put them on my new one, plus the cable is a little loose, it idles fine, just when you step on it or try to get going it doesn't have much go to it, i did check the injectors and they all seem fine, i think i would hear a miss, but thanks. ALSO my idle kind of wanders, i checked the vaccum hoses and they are all tight, any ideas? Thanks guys

two options i can think as i has issues with the swap i did ld9 to eco. the wander is prob you throttle cable bouncing around. the ld9 cable leaves the fire wall goes to the pass side and sits in a bracket and then to the TB which is input from the pass side.

Option two regarding power. check you trans fluid level may be low. according to my GM manual yes the OEM Dealer issued manual says low power check trans fluid levels(levels low) i have the same issue mine had loss of power and shifting issues. like i mean i can WOT and it screams yet moves dog slow. also is your exhaust all back on and tightened up??
Also what motor did u have???

i went from a ld9 to an ld9, the exhaust is tight but the glasspack the last owner put on there is toast, replacing all of that soon, i think i have a cracked full line which is why i don't have any power when i punch it, ill try that and make sure of the throttle cable, thanks.

We have a winner, they were snug the wires were just pulled out of two a little so it was a hit and miss thing, and the fuel line was fixed two. I swear i was running on two cylinders smooth, now firing on all four it gets up and gets gone like now. Thanks for all your help.
