ive been told very high compression was a leading cause for bearing failure in a 2.4, however... it was something like 14:1. he was running .080 over domed pistons with an 086 head so it was a lot.

the truth is not a lot of information exists as not a lot of builds consist of crazy compression around here. most just go turbo and dont care about compression.

but, i do know paul tjpekes has .040 over domed pistons and beats the absolute piss out of it with nothing but success (so far). mid 13's and over 200whp from a build that quite frankly was small scale with off the shelf parts.

with kyle's (speedline) build and and jay's (brodycog) high compression builds pending, we should be able to better answer your question within the coming months. the ld9 certainly seems to love higher compression. weather it likes MEGA high or just a small bump only time will tell.

I had a 086 head on my stock 2.4 bottom and which worked out to 11.37-1 compression. I ran the piss out of it for like 7000 miles before I tore it down to go a different direction.
