i have a 01 cav with header exhaust intake lowering springs and strut bar. is there any other perfomance upgrades i can do to make my car a bit faster. i know theres always turbo(which i might do later on) but i have some extra cash laying around and i want to fix up my car. im looking to spend no more than $400. what about a throttle body spacer or somthing like that would that help? somone just give me some ideas thanks
Sell your 01 Cavalier, add the $400 to that... then buy an 03+ Ecotec Cavalier. Instant 50hp upgrade.
Throttle body spacers wont do anything but whistle, unless you run nitrous. Tap the spacer for a nitrous feed.
Personally I would upgrade your car a bit more before going for speed. Make your car more controllable and fun to drive by finishing your suspension mods too.
Lowering struts (not just springs)
control arm bushings
end link bushings
sway bars
both strut bars
upper/lower engine mounts
Throttle body spacers are pointless...

well yeah i was going to do that. not get another cavalier either i was going to get like a mustang or somthing. but anyway i decided to keep it and fix it up. i was thinking of doing an ebay turbo and just running around 6 psi. but right now i was just wondering if there was any other cheaper mods i could do in the mean time. and yeah i have the performance struts and springs but thats all i have for supension i just got them on today acutally got eibach sportlines for $60 dollars and got them put in for $150 w/ alignment. and i just ordered an aem cold air intake for $60 on ebay. so the tb spacer will give no more power at all? what about like ignition or somthing?
and i had a perfect chance to get the eco because a few months ago my engine got water in it and bent the rods and the insurance company paid for me to get a new engine and i asked them if i could get the ecotec and they said i couldnt because it wouldnt bolt up to my trans and i would have to change out the computer system and everything......so im stuck with the ohv but at least i only have 50k miles on it.
Ebay turbo kits contain low quality parts that have no warranty and can cause damage to your engine.

x2. I bagged my cav w/o knowing what direction i wanted to take with it. Then later on i supercharged it and found out the direction i want to take with it. Now im stuck spending $1k+ to redue my suspension.
