I am getting springs on my next bonus check after running a year on stage 1 cams without replacement.... yeah i need to be flamed for doing so... but it sat in a garage cause i was driving a company car. My question... I am running rich on a stock tune, stock springs, aftermarket intake, exhaust, header, stock injectors after the cam replacement. My thinking on this is that the valves from the stock springs are not closing quick enough to have adequate burn from the extra lift. I know I have to take the cams out again for the spring replacement, but is it possible i might of installed the exhaust cam out of timing when i did the initial install? or is it because of the spings being stock? I did use the cam install tool and zipties on the install, but i know 1 tooth off is easily done. Thanks for the advice ahead of time, even if im just plain stupid lol
i assume this is for the ecotec engine?
Running rich under WOT or just cruising?
Do you have a wideband? If so what is the AFR?
^^^ Nice sig... the Eco is covered by Whores... hense "Eco Whore" and Richard Simmons is a power house and makes more power than dem whores... When it comes to a race, i rather have richard simmons than some whores... cause we'll win... just like when it comes to N/A Motor builds...
well done!!

Sorry about that. It is an ecotec. I have HP tuners and a Innovate Wideband kit. I just calibrated it to through that possibility out. When I get at 5000k or above WOT, i get from 10.2 to 11 AFR, basically once PE kicks in. The fuel trims look normal under cruise. You can see alittle black smoke too. I honestly thought it was an exhaust cam timing issue... but everyone tells me the car would hardly run if that was the case.
I don't know if this had anything to do with it, but I did tune it per the sticky write up before the cams. The car would stall at a stop. So I went back to stock, and would stall still. I disconnected the neg off the battery for awhile and it fixed the problem. Since then I have stayed at a stock tune that I saved before changing VE tables and spark advancement.
Damn autocorrect on Iphones.... "throw that possibility out"
