High flow cat???
Monday, April 26, 2010 5:30 PM
Well i had what i thought was a dynomax high flow cat on my car for several years; i had a leak before my cat and decided to have the cat removed; well now i think i should re install the a cat to play it safe and to be good to mother earth...
The cat that came of my car does not look any different then a normal cat; so i guess i am wondering what makes a a cat a high flow cat?
I am looking at a cat at canadian tire, it says its a magnaflow by something designs; i dont know if its even a magnaflow; but it is stainless and is a good price, , i looked inside and it looks just like a regular cat full of the mesh...
what do high flow cats look like inside????
Thanks...

they look just like normal cats. the biggest advantage to a "high flow" cat is the increase in pipe size. also, cat with o2 bung, which passes emissions and is less than $50 shipped. and it's stainless.

High flow cats look like regular cats but they have a lower cell density in order to allow exhaust gases to flow through easier. Some companies give the cell count.

My cat is a Spun by Magnaflow and it is a 200 cell cat. It was bought at Hottexhaust who has free shipping to Canada and the USA.

I guess for the highest flow, it would best to go with the lowest cell count and the shortest length cat as the cell count is given in density and cell/volume ratio will not be affected by length.
