I checked today to see if the 2.3ho intake manifold would clear the alternator on the ecotec I think it will I didn't get to Ben's in time to check it on his car but I did put it up on a block and head on the floor I think this will work. I took an eco flange and put it on top of the 2.3 manifold and the ports are perfect. So next week I am going to try and cut it off and get the eco flage welded on. Has anyone tried this or looked into it? I don't want to mess up a good manifold for nothing but this is WAY cheaper than building or buying a custom manifold.
i was lookin in to this too let me know how it works out
You step up and let me know how it works lol Just kidding man. I would have this done pretty quick if the good flange wasn't so much. Also the welder is way busy that's what I heard today anyway.
well if this works, the next step is to get a phenolic spacer on it to keep the mani temps down.
Hey guys I have a GM Performance intake manifold for an Ecotec with LS1 75mm TB for sale $400+shipping and its yours.
I posted it in the South East forum, and have a tranny with a Quaife and a Spec clutch for sale as well for cheap.

its been done before,
it looked really awkward in the eco engine bay though. theres pics around somewhere
Eat my shift
sorry I hate the look of these manifolds on any engine bay.
I think that's gorgeous! Seriously though, who cares what it looks like as long as it makes the car move faster?

I remember seeing a 2.3HO manifold on an ECO years ago. I'm pretty sure the owner was Canadian...not that there's anything wrong with that.
I have no signiture
nothing wrong with it, and i'd still like to know if it produced gains and if it can be done without tuning.
I'm sure it has gains on a boosted car. Plus it wont blow the charge pipe off.
It was done on an eco swapped cav a couple years ago by someone in Quebec. He never posted how he got it on there or the gains he got.
ok, so anyone got any ideas on what it would take to make this work? also anybody know if it would take tuning? obviously a tune would be ideal but if tuning weren't available right away would it be fine without it?
it would involve getting an aluminum intake flange and welding it to the manifold. or adapting the manifolds flange to the eco's bolt pattern and port matching.

so a little machine work, that really doesn't sound all that bad. how would throttle body workout? srry i know nothing about quad's, and honestly had no intention of learning till i saw this thread.
your best bet would probably be to adapt the eco throttle body to the manifold.
WELL I LOST MY DAMN 2.3 MANIFOLD. DAMN INDIAN GIVERS!!! Wish I would have cut the flange off of it already and been like oh sure you can have it back lol
If either of you do get one and cut off the flange I need a flange, id be willing to buy it.
Do you still have this? I have a 2008 2.2L Ecotec, let me know.
not sure there would be a real gain here when you'd have alot of work to make the ho mani work and the 2.4 eco mani already flows MUCH better than the l61 and is pretty much a bolt on affair.
