well on tuesday i went to get my exhaust done but the shop only had time to put on the header, when i left the place i noticed it had an exhaust leak but i was in a hurry so i didnt turn back
the following day we got hit with a hurricane so i couldnt do much till thursday when i went to get it fixed and install my exhaust. i got my exhaust done but they still couldnt find the exhaust leak untill they said it was coming from here ↓↓↓
what is missing there??
They used the wrong exhaust manifold gasket. That is an EGR passage but is not used on the 00+ 2.4. If the shop used a pre 00 gasket you will have a leak there.
ooooohhhh ok then, they used the gasket that came with the header i bought, so i just go to autozone and buy a gasket for a 00+ and i should be good then?

yes.
theres also a block-off plate that closes off the hole pictured, but you'd be fine with just the exhaust gasket.
in case you're intrested heres the part numbers for what you would need to block that hole off. P/N good at
GMPartsdirect
EGR Block-off Plate (24575505)
EGR Block-off Plate Gasket (24573947)
EGR Block-off Plate Bolts (11517518)- you'd need to order 3 of these.
but again, you'd be fine with just the exhaust mani. gasket.
i kinda made my own gasket and blockoff plate lol and its fixed now, no more exhaust leak thanks! i may order that though..
