ok i have a aem cold air intake, dual exhaust....that's it lol. Anyway, i searched and all i can find is about a 2.2 want more out of his own. So my delima is when i am at a stand still and i need shoot across a lane to get to the turning lane, i have this bog down then the power will climb now am confused, i though the cai was increase the throttle response is it the issue? is the heat wrap the prob and that's on the cai ? or maybe my true dual flow exhaust? am baffled but i think it could be the clutch as if there was slippage when i have it full throttled at that particular moment. Maybe if i had a better/grabbier clutch ill get the instant response that i long for. thxs
Try thinking ahead when your driving. Darting across two lanes of traffic at the last second is not a very wise move.

well its not so much as am darting across traffic and but its just scenarios were i need to sprint and the power is not available see my point? its not just the lane sprint but in general. Imagine on the drag, Light turns green, i nail it...BOGG....wrrooomm....too late take off was to ghey you lose!...see my point?

Thats sentance tells u what the problem is...
2.2 if its non eco. thats ur issue.
lol thats messed up evo, i like my ld9...i had a 2.2 eco in my pontiac grand am but....i killed it... but things changed, i have a ld9 and its fun..but i like a lot more throttle response..so the quest for a answer continues
I had that same problem when i owned an 01 z24 5 speed with intake, 62mm tb, header and cat-back system. Some people will argue that intake, header etc.... won't affect your low end power and that infact will add power through the hole rpm band but i found out that was a big lie. you sacrifice low end for mid/top end power.
Try messing with the gears and look/feel where you power is at. mine was from 2900-5600 anything before and after , the car would just make noise and not go anywhere. i was gonna swap cams and tune it so i caould make power all the way to 7k rpms but sold the car before it could happend. hope this helps.

If the engine is actually bogging down, like as in you can hear the engine trying to cut off or significantly slow down in rpms, I would say you have something broken. If you go to take off and the car revs up but doesnt really move much and it kind of feels like your reving in neutral and the car slowly catches up to the egines rpms and then takes off hard then it could be the clutch.
Granted my car is an auto, when I added a larger throttlebody, 3 inch exhaust with header, and cold air intake I did not loose any bottom end power what so ever.
Shorten the intake tubing. The closer the air filter is to the throttle body the more throttle response you'll have. Of course you'll lose mid range torque doing this. Air in a tube takes time to move the longer the distance between your tb and your filter the more time it takes for the air to catch up to what you want the engine to do.

if its the 2.4 like it says you have in your cars profile, why not put a blower on it.
Either that or else cam it up
had a blown ecotec swapped 2000 cavy, now just an 02 Grand Am, and a 74 BMW 2002...
Increased throttle response? Only one thing stands out in my mind, Individual throttle bodies.

maybe your problem is the true dual exhaust. that much open space to push exhast gas through may be too big. what size ot piping did u use?

Seafoam for the high mileage? I noticed a difference after I used it.
