If I was to put a ported/polished 2.4L head, with stainless steel valves installed, port matched to the 2.3 intake manifold, along with the '93 exhaust cam and '95 intake cam up for sale, would there be any interest?
A long time ago I turbo'd the z24, blew the motor, and rebuilt it fully from the ground up to make use of a GT30R. Long story short, durring the down time I picked up a Fiero project car and a Camaro and lost interest in the Z24. I did finally get it running, and it runs fine but durring the engine break-in (N/A on base tune) the isuzu 5 speed differential crapped out.
So it sat for ~1.5 years, and I picked up a NVG-T550 transmission (getrag 282 with taller gears and hydrolic slave) brand new and put it into it and got it driving again. It's been like that for the past 6 months or so, driving slow on 8.5:1 compression with a built powertrain and no turbo. I've determined I do not want to finish this project, as I will be starting grad school next year and my other cars are more entertaining to me. But a car built for a high pressure turbo system, running around N/A is pretty annoying. What I'm debating doing is this:
Swapping my built/ported head with secret cams for a 086 head with HO cams, to get my compression to around 10.3:1 ish, and help it out for the N/A side of things. Since I doubt anyone would be interested in buying the car to finish the turbo build on, might as well get some N/A power out of it and sell my top end to somebody who may make use of it.
I have a ton of other parts that are brand new that will be sold as well, from the GT30R, tial 40mm gate, Exploited Racing stainless turbo manifold, megasquirt 2, 550cc low imp. injectors, 1000cc low imp. injectors, adjustable fpr, and some other stuff including a new 2.4L crankshaft somewhere I was gonna throw into a 2.3 stroker build that never went forward. If there's interest I'll see if I can make an inventory... but mostly I'd like to know if there is a point of me putting an 086 head on the motor and liquidating the 2.4 head to others.

Just because it is lower compression does not mean it is slower. W have seen a turbo built 2.4 make 171 wheel horse power n/a, which is more than what a 2.4 makes from the factory.

an 086 would be a fun edition if your staying naturally aspirated. I would check for valve clearance if you are running HO cams, I know that its too close for comfort on 9-1 wiesco's.
It's a little quicker than it was from the factory even with the 8.5:1, (no ballance shafts, light flywheel and light internals, not so secret cams, ported head and HO intake do count for something...) but the low end in very sluggish. I know an 086 head and HO cam's won't help the low end any (higher compression will be offset by cam profile for the most part) but at least it would be a bit more peppy up high. The main reason for this is since I won't be turbo'ing the car, the stainless valves are going to waste, and the low compression is for the most part useless. The 2.3 head seems like it would suit a NA build nicely, and by retaining a comp ratio just over 10:1 I can even run mid grade gas still. If I can do this without spending much (if any) money it seems like a good plan, and could help somebody out looking for a nice turbo head.

this should be in the classifieds.
