i was at the shop the other day to get a brake line put on my 97 5 speed cave and one of the mechanics bought my buds 00 5 speed and his son blew a head gasket in it. he told me his son got the head shaved 10thousandths and put small blocks valves in it. he said the car runs like a beast and has tons go get up and go. i was wondering if this would even work. i never heard of any1 doin this before.
He decked the head upping the compression and used better lifters from the LS i believe. Look up roller rocker lifters that is if you have an LN2 engine. However, it may have slightly helped performance he would not get a lot more get up an go and I would hope that he tuned it after increasing compression.

i dont think he got it tuned. he just threr it all together so they could drive it. its a daily driver and has no exhaust on it lol
I doubt he used the LT-1 Hybrid lifters. Theyre a whore to make and they havent gone much past here and some S10 fourms. Probably did use some 1.6 rockers meant for a SBC. But theyre not a huge performance gainer more of a complementary mod IMO. The stock computer could probably compensate for the compression change. Ten thousands isnt that much.
