I had a discussion with my friend about this awhile back while he was looking at a Devilsown kit for his GTP.
Meth kits lower IATs. Lower IATs. More power. I know theres more to it probably but thats what I got as a basic explanation.
So how come no one runs meth on N/A cars?
People do, on higher hp n/a cars. High compression etc.. No need on a stock motor with bolt ons.

You aren't going to get much of a temperature delta for the intake charge NA. It will help fight detonation in a high compression engine though. I honestly believe it would be a waste on any engine with less than 12:1 SCR.

Too much timing advance doesnt necesarily yield more power. The explosion gives the piston it's momentum on it's down stroke... toooo much advance and you could have the explosion happen to close to when the piston is about to move back up. That would basically be counterproductive.. Then theres considering too much timing retard and you could cause the explosion to happen while the piston is still moving upward, and that's also bad. From what I understand, you want the explosion to happen pretty much at TDC, RIGHT as the piston is beginning it's downstroke. That way there is no hesitation in the rotation and you get the full downstroke to utilize the "power" from the explosion. Someone correct me if Im wrong....

You're wrong
Spark advance is a measure of ignition in degrees
BEFORE TDC (hence the term Spark "Advance"). The point of this is so that the flame front has time to expand in the chamber as the piston passes TDC. If you ignite at TDC, then the flame front has to "catch-up" with the piston during the power/expansion stroke and you won't get much power out of your engine.

Sure, but the point is, you aren't going to drop temps like you think. It works better in boosted engines because the intake temps are much higher than ambient. In a NA engine, the intake temp is only marginally higher than ambient, and like I said.

I'm not sure if there is any merit to this, but I heard that meth injection is hard on aluminum heads. Maybe because of the surge of cool fuel in a hot head fluctuating the temperature of the aluminum itself?

Makes sense. I was just under the impression that meth drops the IAT a lot even at ambient temp.
My friends GTP had like 200 something degree IATs. Guess it would be more helpful on that.
I have a devils own diy kit on my n/a and it works really well ! It's hooked to a switch in the center console , I was moving more toward the saving gas and bought an efie to lean my fuel! But I never hooked it up. I just switch it on when I'm passing , I can tell a difference .I got a tb space intending to spray under the tb but I ended up putting the nozzle in my cai . After using it for about a month it oxidized my tb but all is good still running fine, but I'll tell you the cheapest way of doing the set up is buying the devils own nozzle and check valve and some ice make refrigerator line, brass pressure fittings, a switch, a boat gas tank from Walmart, a glass fuel filter from auto zone and a short rubber hose , and I got my pump from northern tools for 60$ so roughly I spent 120$ for the whole set up not including the tb spacer.
Meth is corrosive to aluminum, which is why its hard on parts, and why your tb is oxidizing. You could potentially max out spark advance on the stock compression ratio with just 93 octane. It depends on what the max advance actually is, maybe colder plugs would get you there. Unless you're willing to put a ton of effort in its not going to be worth all that much on an n/a car.
