Has anyone either removed or installed the stock cat-back without cutting it in two pieces? I'm wondering if its possible to snake it over the rear "axle." When I removed mine I cut it right before the muffler to get it out easier. Now that I am reinstalling it I want to weld it back together before its on the car but I don't know if its possible to get it all back in at one time in once piece.
Thanks in advance,

Sup Eric, you still have your J?
Oh, and maybe if you drop your trailing arm you can fit the cat-back back in there.

Yeah I debated whether to wait for the programmable reflash, but just couldn't wait any longer. I can't see putting another 400-500 in for a solid 1 bar tune. Even then its dangerous to drive daily esp. in the rain with almost zero traction unless you are in 4th gear. Stop and go traffic is no fun either and the 3" exhaust is obnoxious.

So you're saying that your Mitsubishi TD06-20g Turbo @ 10PSI is giving you that much hell that you can't daily drive the car?
Hmmm.
And I love obnoxious sounding exhausts, screw the public. lol
But the only way to get your exhaust in is to drop the rear axle from your shocks as this may give you enough room.
I'd still worry about the over axle portion and getting it threaded in.
You may also want to do this on a lift so you've got room to maneuver the piping as needed.
Being on the ground is going to be a bitch and you can only lift up the car so far as I've got plenty of experience on this with my Cavy.
I'd make the Fiero a dd with the Porsche a weekend car while you have weekend warrior status for the Cavy.
That's pretty much similar to what I've done with mine and works great.
It just depends which car is expendable as your daily but having the Porsche as a daily driver is going to ultimately cost you more to maintain than the Fiero or Cavy.
Good luck man.

Thank you Dave and JBO!
Thanks Misnblu,
Problem is I also have a e38 and 2 Jeeps sitting in my driveway, so looking to downsize. The Fiero is already gone
Yes 10psi on stock tires = zero traction in the rain even with the LSD insert.

i did this in my driveway with jackstands. remove both rear wheels. both rear shocks allowing the rear arm to drop and hang. you can with a lil fancess get the whole muffler and pipe in one peice up to the cat. just takes some turning to get the bend over the rear axle. worked well for me just need the car high enough. we took ours off and put back in same way.
^^ Thanks, answer I was hoping for. Need to take strut bar off anyways.

BTW, I was able to do it.
Remove Rear bumper cover (Might be able to do it with base cover on)
Unbolt drivers upper strut mount
Unbolt brake line bracket from frame rail (drivers side)
Remove bolt from forward arm of drivers twistbar (support twistbar with floor jack as you lower it.)
At this point you can slip the whole rear sections of the exhaust under the car in one piece.
