I built a pro-street Vega a few years back when you could actually find them untouched and in good shape, it was a fun project but it is time for something new. I want to do a RWD conversion with a sbc powerplant tub and narrow the rear four link suspension the whole deal, is there anyone here who has done this? I do not want to drop the car onto a chopped up S10 frame orbuild a full tube chassis, it will probably never see the track, just some fun around town and the fun of building it. I already know it is a lot of work and it isnt cheap but it is the direction I am looking in.
Please none tell me I am a fool I already know that. All I am looking for is information about the topic at hand.....Bill

Go beyond the "bolt-on".
Its been done a couple times, there is the yellow coupe with the big block in it. Looks nothing like stock though. Ive never seen any pictures of the rear axle set up, not sure if there is any around even.
It will be a little more work than the Vega since it started as a RWD and not FWD. It will be a LOT of work, but if you can measure and are a good fabricator, shouldn't bee TOO difficult.

Probably the best site out there for parts for Cavalier RWD conversions.
Lots of nifty stuff.
Good Luck.
Quad 4 rods.com also makes a Ecotec/LD9 bellhousing to T5 tranny if you are thinking about keeping the stock powerplant.
