Ok guys heres my problem.
04, 2.2 auto sedan, 115k miles.
Problems.
My idle dropped from a normal 900rpm to around 550rpm. I also have a bit
of a rough idle. But no problems with how the motor is running at
highway speeds.
When blipping the throttle at idle it falls on its face for a moment
then the rpm's come up. This was never the case before, it was always a nice crisp throttle response.
I notice a bit of a loss in power.
Has died on me a couple of times.
When going at speed I used to be able to let off the gas and the rpm's
would slowly fall along with the speed. Now when I let off the gas the
rpm' will drop immediately down to around 1k-1.2k much like clutching a manual at speed.
Sometimes the idle bounces up and down till it finds where it wants to be.
Transmission seems to be sluggish. Which I believe is because of the low idle.
When coming to a stop I have noticed that if I put the car in neutral
and roll to a stop that right at 2-3mph there is a "thunk" like the tranny is engaging or something is disengaging. Under normal idle
conditions you cant feel this but during low idle conditions its very evident. I have tested this.
When i come down from highway speed to a quick stop the tranny on occasion will chatter and slow shift.
Occasionaly the motor will run slightly warmer than normal and the throttle feels "spongy" or soft.
NO CEL"S
WHAT I HAVE DONE SO FAR.
No vacuum leaks to be found.
Engine vacuum is good.(20inhg)
Cleaned throttle body.
New air filter.
Tranny Flush and filter.
New Plugs and Boots.
New IAC
New IAT
New ICM
New TPS
New MAP
This is not a fuel delivery issue as the car runs on gasoline or CNG
(from the factory) with 2 seperate fuel delivery systems, injection
systems and control cpu's with all of the same problems present on both
fuel systems.
Ideas? This is kickin my arse!
my auto eco sedan idles at 600 rpms, has for a long time with no issues
pretty much any auto j is going to feel like it's falling on it's face when you let off the gas
i dunno bout your other issues just thought i'd throw my personal experience's out there
Mine has always idled around 900-1k. I and I know many others do also. I have read about this problem in other places but nobody can seem to figure out what causes it..
Injector cleaner? Fuel filter?
Nope, it has 2 seperate fuel systems, and it runs this way on both.
vacuum leak. do a smoke test on the intake through one of the vacuum hoses with the engine off and look for smoke, then fix leak. could be fuel too, but i put my money on it being a vacuum leak
