I post this everytime I come to Europe (every year). I am in the United Kingdom and wanted to know if there are any parts that are worth looking into for my ECOTEC motor? Does anyone know? With the advent of the CRUZ, I'm sure the 1.4 liter ecotec would have many parts to buy in the U.K, but when I've looked into my ecotec 2.2, there was nothing I could get here. Is that still the same? Thanks

vauxhall vx220 has our engines. Those guys usually look to the US for supercharging their engines. I don't know if there is anything desirable off of their engines. Maybe cosmetic stuff, like the valve/idi cover? It is very cool you are over there looking, please let us know what you find!
The "ecotec" in the cruze and the ecotec in our cars are totally different. From what I'm told, there is more of an aftermarket following of the cruze's version in Europe, as it is a European engine. As McNulty said, Vauxhall and Opel use them.
I've also heard there is a crazy amount of cams available in the European market. I think it was mentioned in a build thread Karo posted up for a customer.
Agreed with McNulty, if you find anything interesting post up!
Yeah there's some super awesome cams for ecotec's in europe. Any cams for a car with the power steering on the wrong side (ie how ours is) and without a cam sensor SHOULD work. They have some insane hollow billet cams designed to rev to infinity.

Interesting. I was thinking of getting bigger cams than my current aftermarket ones so I'll look into that for sure. Thanks for the posts. Will let you know what I find! The 1.4 ecotec motor is in a lot of cars here, so I figured there would be some parts for that motor for sure. However, not what I need crap! We'll see what I find. Thanks again guys

I would love to find out more info on those cams, they seem to be a closely guarded secret tho

Newt dont worry, a skilled custom cam maker could make you cams that would work better with your engine just as easily. And the price number I heard kicking around on those cams is significant. To the point that you could order a lot of sets ground off the stock casting before buying a set of the euro billet cams and unless you're reving over 8k you shouldnt notice a big difference between the cast cams and the hollow billet cams.

Oh I know, I would still very much like to see what the hype is all about with these things tho. I will probably never run a set of cams near as wild as them but I guess its just a curiousity thing. I'd love to see what those cams do in desktop dyno.
