As most of you all know I have a boosted stock engine. Now my goal is at least 250hp. Its not going to be a track rat but daily driven.
I am going to upgrade key parts but what I need to know is what stock parts on the LD9 are acceptable for my goal range.
For example Im aware the stock fuel rail will be fine with my current goal.
For now I want to know is upgrading to a custom intake manifold worth the extra cash for my goal? I want to make sure the stock manifold will be restrictive at those power levels. Basically what power level is the stock manifold rated up to?
And I know to help answer the question you will need my engine build specs.
Basically it consist of a stock block with stock bore cylinders.
Wiesco pistons 9:1
Eagle H-beam rods
2.3 Oil pump swap (includes balance shaft delete)
Miller performance oil pan
2.4 Head w/ stock valve train except SS valves and minor port and polish
H.O. Camshafts
Super 60 turbo made by precision turbo
FMI with undercarriage charge pipes
and a good tune once its all swaped in.
I hate to make a long post about it. But I know most are under the assumption that anything stock is worth upgrading when really that is not true depending on what your goal is.
GMR has got nothing on this
i don't see y you'd bother swapping honestly with that low of a number in mind. suppose you could always upgrade to a ho manifold and go through the necessary modification to make that work, but you start talking about a sheet mani intake and like you said your'e just going for overkill at that point.
I glad I made myself clear on the subject. I have lots of H.O. intake manifolds but I dont want to go that route due to the weight of the manifold. Im trying to save weight. But who knows once I get to my goal I might want more HP
