i need exhaust opions

I have a 2000 cavalier 2.2l sedan. What exhaust sounds the best for our cars in your opinion? Or what exhaust do you have on your car? I know this has probably been asked a million times. I want to get a different cat-back exhaust or muffler for my car. I want to get something that will flow better than stock and sounds good with a deeper tone if possible(not a fart can). I called one exhaust shop and they wanted $300 to intall a 2.25" cat-back system with either a magnaflow or flowmaster muffler (those are the only 2 brands they use). Is that a decent price? I called a second exhaust shop (they custom build exhausts, they built custom long tube headers for my buddy's '99 crown vic) they told me the stock 2" exhaust is more than enough. is the second guy right? Would I be better off get an cat-back system off of ebay/the internet or having and exhaust shop build me and exhaust? Thanks for the help and advice.

Stock is the best sounding exhaust.

*edit. I take that back. Turbo is the best sounding exhaust followed very closely by stock.

Stock is definitely not enough from a performance stand point. $300 is a very good price for a cat back.

its an old concept. time for something new to take the reigns. - Z yaaaa

But stock is still the best sounding barring any turbo.

Nope. Strat81, Qwibby, Vincent Morris, etc all sound better than stock. Mine just need the resonators swapped out.

I have a pacesetter ceramic header and Megan Racing cat-back. I know its a fart can, but it doesnt sound bad IMO.

I think we need a thread similar to this : http://www.v6z24.com/jbodyforum/official-exhaust-sound-clip-thread-and-muffler-info-t93988.html

-Engine
-Stock or not (If not stock, list mods like Cam/headers/turbo etc...)
-Pipe size
-Cat (yes/No) and type (stock/hi-flow)
-Muffler (Brand and Part number if possible)
-Tip style
-General comment about it's sound/performance

Yes I like it. There was one on the saturn forums too. It was helpful. Its more helpful when someone actually goes through and works the sound of it to make it sound like real life on different speaker systems (like up load videos for head phones, desk top speakers, 2.1 systems, full surround sound systems) And quality recording is a must. Video should be edited and include idle, free reving, driving normal, hard, and WOT in the car, and a drive by normal and WOT.
