Three out of four mounts

Okay. Background before the question: I am currently running a 200 Sunfire 3 speed automatic with a 2200 under the hood (I know, I know, Ewww). Gonna do a tranny swap to a five speed Getrag in a bit here, and am gonna opt for the TTR Transmission mounts while I'm there. While I'm at it, I figure it wouldn't be a bad idea to drop in the solid lower mount.

Now for the question: As I will eventually (in the next year or so) will be doing a 3400 swap, I do not really see the point in buying an upper mount for the 2200, and would like to continue to run it on the stock mount. I might fill it or something on the cheap though. Is this doable or will it cause any sort of problems with all the vibrations being taken out on the upper mount?

I'll eventually take the time to put something here. I swear.

I don't think it would be a problem leaving it. Don't think you will have much of a problem with wheel hop. But if you do, I thought the insert was like $15 or something or just fill it with some pl premium or something. For best results, do it first when you do the swap so the mount can cure for few days.

Well its not Wheel Hop im worried about so much as shearing the top mount from all the engine movement being taken out on it...

Just pony up and buy the $15 insert for the top mount. When/if you do the 3400 swap, post it up in the classifieds.

I believe depending on what mount you use for the 3400 swap, you can actually still use the top mount insert.

They're talking about the poly insert that literally just pushes in around the stock rubber. I have one too and it works pretty well. I did weld a strap across the back of the mount to keep the insert from sliding out though. I think I may have even paid less than 15 for mine...

It shouldnt really cause to many problems man. I know people who have just run lower mounts and been fine with it. And like said if it would make you feel more comfortable just get the insert.
