Thursday, April 07, 2011 11:39 PM
this is paul's header. its a 1 5/8" stepped to 1 3/4" made with a 4-1 merge collector and 3" v-band outlet all made out of 304 stainless steel except the 2 flanges. anyways its the same as newts proto so ill just get past the talking and on with the pics........

(the head flange has not been resurfaced yet)

if its from Columbia river, like 200 something dollars, if its from burns, like 400 something. They're really @!#$ expensive and there is a noticeable difference between the burns and everyone else.

Looks really damn good. Mike I have a race car tube frame I need welded up this fall... Too bad you're too far away, those welds are way better than anyone on my team.

they are actually chinese made collectors and i get them for 175.00. for what u get the price is reasonable if u ask me. especially compared to a burns collector. they are the best out there but i cant justify paying 300.00+ for just a collector. anyways thanks guys im hopping for ~20whp gains on newts car, thats not including the gains from the head work im doing either.

i know how you guys feel about the merge collector price.. my header is sitting here only needing the merge collector and its done. but jeas.. even $175 is a bunch for a collector.

thats a nice quality looking header! also like how you used a Vband for it as well instead of @!#$ collector flanges!

thanks, yes much easier to take on and off then bolt up flanges. also guys, u will get the other hlalf of the flange and the v band clamp with the header but its ur job to get it welded on to ur exhaust. and i would suggest installing a flex section at the beginning of the exhaust also as engine tq/rock with no flex likes to break headers......... in case u dont have one insalled already anyways.

LOL jason ron can make an LD9 version just like my quad version.

mine looks identical to these guys' cept for the 2.3 flange and lack of merge collector.
