once again another post about the swap,
i want to do this to my 2.4 but cant find a hard list of parts and such.
im basically askin for a part list
and a brief how to. juss because i cant find a write up about the swap.
id also like to see some pics (if theres any out there)of the intake mani. on a finished swap. because in the end i want to run a short run mani with a decent plenum and a 68mm t/b.
the secret cam swap is goin to be done aswell.
if anyone could help. or even send some links my way it would be greatly appreciated.
I may be mistaken, but isn't the secret cam from the 086?
Secret cams, 95 quad 4 vin D 2.3 intake cam with casting number of 245/742 as it has a sensor pad, and power steering hex drive on it, lift being .360", and a duration of 200*.
Now the exhaust cam is from a '90-'94 quad 4 vin D 2.3 liter with lift being .375", a duration of 200*, and the casting numbers are 225/455. this is all i know about the secret cams... u may be right. still wondering about the head swap tho.

It looks like a stock manifold mated to a head
as far as a parts list, off the top of my head
- 086 head
- matching 2.3L quad4 water neck outlet
- Any 2.3L quad4 head gasket or 99-02 ld9 felpro head gasket (my stock GM 99' gasket was too small).
- Any 2.3L exhaust manifold (I use a 90-92 and ported the merge)
- 2.3L intake and exhaust manifold gaskets
- I needed some various brass fittings and elbows to re-route some of the coolant lines.
I really can't think of anything else you really "need", but ARP head studs and stainless or inconel valves wouldn't be a unwise investments

So, you're kind of partially correct. The 086 came on both HO and LO variants from 90-92.
