2.2 LAP crank trigger
Monday, August 01, 2011 5:45 PM
ok so does anyone know if the 2.2 LAP shares the same 7x trigger wheel or the 58x wheel that the LSJ uses im going to be running a standalone (Haltech Sprint 500) and plan to do some form of hybrid since the haltech isnt compatible with the 7x wheel. dont really want to run a lsj crank due to needing trans spacer and lsj clutch so im leaning towards a Gen II LAP/LSJ hybrid or a 2007 2.4 LE5/LSJ either one would be paired with a equal length turbo mani and a 3076 or a 6262 hoping to see 450 to the wheels.

seems like everyone is trying to do the opposite of me and keep the 7x reluctor wheel lol.

My guess it is like the lsj and not the 7x

Its like the LSJ. Use the block, use l61 internals and you should be good. GenII blocks have held 600 hp!

Pretty sure everything 2006 and up have the 58x wheel...

Good choice. I'll be making the switch next summer or the summer after that. I think I'll just do it all when I eventually do the LE5 swap so I can wire the whole harness to the engine out of the car. That'll just add another 800 bucks onto the cost of the swap to buy that AEM EMS4.

If you need help with the haltech interface let me know. The only hard part would be to figure out the cript value.

Minor suggestion. To get yourself close on the VE table right away, take a tune from a similarly built LD9 on the reflash and convert the tables on there from GMVE to regular VE. Use this article to do the conversion, make an excel sheet that does it for you. Your text to link here.... And just to make sure, you CANNOT use this method to convert your alpha-n tune.
