Does anyone know the specifications for the size and length of primary and secondary pipes and collector size for the Bill/Stan's Isuzuperformance and DC Sports 4-2-1 headers for a Cavalier 2.4.

I couldn't tell you but im surprised no one else has either.... Where's Brad at?

If i were you, if you are looking in to the Stan's header, you should look in to Ron's Header... (Ron Seibenick) http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.php?f=2&i=464766&t=453273&p=1

lol arent the dc sports and rk sport 4-2-1 headers discontinued or can you still get them? I might just use rons smaller 1 5/8 to 1 3/4 tube sizes rather than the big ones 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 tubes. I was just looking to find out what all the headers for the 2.4 primary and secondary pipe sizes were and only came up with the varied 1 1/2 inch pipe 4-1's and only found the bill/stans 4-2-1 on the net with a dyno. I looked pretty hard even on sites to buy, but they didn't even show pipe sizes of the dc sports and rk sports 4-2-1's. Brad dont know lol

Also all the 4-2-1 headers available are pair incorrectly, for exhaust gas scavenging.

Are you planing on using it on your grand am? If so youll have to cut all the primarys and have them rewelded to make it past your firewall. You need to be carefull not to angle them downward too much becuase they wont pass by the water pump if you do.

No way man lol I'm getting a Seibenick header. I do have a pacesetter currently on it, its nice compared to some grand am rewelds I've seen. I was just wanting to know if It would be best for the more low end torque to go smaller than the 1 5/8 primaries and 1 3/4 secondaries for Ron's header. I'm using LO cams 10.5 cr and port matching exhaust side. What sizes would be best for this? Idk if Ron could go lower than that... I really like the torqueness of the motor. I mean look at how restricted and small the stock manifold is... For low end torque! Basically horsepower sells car parts torque wins races.

I got Rons header on my 98 GAGT cant remember the size though. Its one size smaller than the biggest one he has available, with a 3inch collector. Ive been meaning to post pics. I think I have the 1st LD9 header for the Nbody.

Except the Bill & Stans, it pairs 1-4 and 2-3 like it should for proper scavaging.

Craig what did you have to do to fit the header? Damn it.... I guess I will be second then haha.

that's completely debatable on where you want your powerband. there isn't only one way to pair cylinders.

To get the power band you desire off the header you would have to go off the cams your using.wouldnt you?

Re: Header(s)

lol you can change the powerband a million different ways. with a header though different pipe sizes, lengths, collector design AND length etc can all effect the powerband.

to do all this the right way one merely needs to have a love for math.. well, either that.. or pay someone that loves math.

That is correct, but pairs 1-4 & 2-3 is a "best" way for exhaust scavenging on our firing order, unless you start playing with cams, head, and header design.

Most people are not going to get a custom ported head, custom designed cams, and a custom header so the other pairs work better together.

If you lower the diameter of the primary and secondary pipe sizes would you want longer or shorter primary and secondary lengths to compensate? how woud it change the header design's velocities?
