Does it actually work? I used some today and it felt like it did but it could have just been in my head. Normally I hit about 100 in third and I hit about 105 after using it. Could have just been a good shift but not sure..
Wouldnt work unless your cars tuned... i used it when at the track and ran at track several times without i can tell you that stuff definitly didnt make a difference for me
octane booster only raises the octane level by like .1.... its not enough to warrant it. so say you fill up with 89, which could be 89 or could not be 89, but for this sake, lets say it is.... you fill with 89, you pour one in, you are now at 89.1...., so you would need 10, to get 1 point. Stuff is not worth a dollar, let alone the dollars they sell it for.
Its a waste. Even pouring in a gallon of tobulene isnt really worth it, though I did it when someone gave me a free tank of 87 octane without asking.

When I used an octane booster or gas additive, I noticed it always left a reddish colored glaze on my plugs and caused misfires.
Currently #4 in Ecotec Forced Induction horsepower ratings. 505.8 WHP 414WTQ!!!
Currently 3rd quickest Ecotec on the .org - 10.949 @ 131.50 MPH!!!
If you require higher octane fuel, use higher octane fuel. No mix-your-own stuff... not reliable.
As for your question, it appears you aren't aware of what octane is, otherwise you wouldn't even be trying to raise it.

also, I dont see how your top speed in thrid changed? even if you gained HP, it would not change the gear ratio. if you top out/redline in 3rd doing 100, that would be the same whether you have 150hp or 300hp.

There was a review of different octane boosters and with different octane level fuels. I think it was on horspower tv. They dynoed each time and they showed a definet increase in hp. With the exception of racing, using it and octane booster they lost hp. I would look for answers with dyno proof. Rather than ask here. Thats just my opinion though.

I wasn't really too concerned... I was just trying it out for the fun of it. I don't know. It may have just been my mind playing tricks on me.
