My buddy has a 96 sunfire and the LD9 engine has finally blown. We had the idea (i know its been done before) of swapping an l67 (3.8L supercharged) out of a regal gs or GTP into it. Everyone talks about how hard it is but there are definitely some things in common.
Sunfire and grand am both share the LD9.
The grand am also is equipped with the 3.4L, but that 3.4L is also used in some w bodies (base model impala and monte carlo)
Which brings us to the 3.8L which is most commonly used in the w bodies (impala, monte carlo, grand prix, regal)
Can anyone chime in on this to give us some insight here. Idk if anyone has thought of this too? Maybe there is a way or combination of mounts from each vehicle considering the above? Thanks a lot
They share absolutely nothing in common!
