Hi, I bought the 98-02 header from one of my buddies and put it on my 96 Cavalier and the only difference we noticed it the end of the collector pipe that attaches to the rest of your exhaust angles a little bit. But it installed perfectly in my car. I have a pacesetter header.

No, 2.2 and 2200 are not the same. Therefore the headers are not the same

exhaust ports are smaller and moved further up on the 98+ ohv. while it will bolt up, you'll cover up about 1/4 the port using a 98+header on a 97- head.

i'd step away from it. you don't know which engine it's designed for (2.2 vs 2200). get the pacesetter ceramic one for your particular engine. you won't regret it. TTR is having an amazing sale on them right now.

save it and wait then. or, get that header, then get another one next year when it rusts through. my pacesetter's been on my car for MORE than 5 years now, not a spot of rust on it anywhere. in a shore town in the northeast. our roads are salty in the summer too.

Good to hear. Im actually going to going with the same header. Not too concerned with max hp, just want it too look pretty. From the sounds of it though, you're not the only one that has been happy with that ebay header. So at least I can look forward to better driveability and hopefully increased mpg.

well before all i had was a fart can and it sounded ok and it got a little better with a intake but the header COMPLETELY changed the car, its super quiet when ur just cruising and it opens up when u get on it..and last night after me and my buddy put it on we always go play around some and me and him lined up and in the past my car woulnt spin for nothing but last night it was spinning like a champ..lol and it pulls in 2nd gear now..before about the only power i had was in 1st gear then it wouldnt do anything..but i am very happy with the outcome
