Ecotec guys check this out

This is mainly for the supercharger ecotec guys. I have been looking for these parts for a while, and have known about this company, just didnt have time or money to actually attempt it all. well I just apent about 45 minutes on the phone with these guys, and these parts will work with a street car,

There is an adaptor that will bolt the ls1 tb to the blower with the stock PS pump still there and working, and will clear everything. the one in the picture does not have provisions on the adaptor for the IAC. they said they usually modify the TB, however they are in the middle of a redesign that will have the IAC provisions on the adaptor. and will be orings on the TB side as well.

also, here is an adaptor that will easily allow for the installation of a remote oil filter, and or a oil cooler on the ecotec motors.

Im 95% that it wont work. When i was doing mock up for ideas for mine i tried that location/orientation and the throttle cable was a BIG issue. It barely reached and there was one hell of an angle on it. If i recall correctly it was developed on either a L61/M62 swapped Z/24 or a LD9/M62 Z/24.

actually it was developed for off road stuff. I talked to the guy the did the work on it, and he told me it was made and installed on a l61/m62 equipped cavalier before it ever went on a off road vehicle, and that all it all went fine. i dont see how the cable would be a issue, and that is the same position my stock TB is in and there is plenty of cable left. maybe getting a bracket to work for it, but thats all in FAB. i asked him more then once, and he had no doubt in his mind that the adaptor would work on a m62 powered 2.2 ecotec motor, with the PS pump still in place, and with the stock cable.

give em a call and see if they will work a deal to test it...it would open up a whole new market for them.

well the dude just called me back to give me a bit more info. it looks to him as well, then that throttle body is with in an inch of the stock location of the stock throttle body, so it all should work. nothing a new throttle cable or a cabel extension couldnt handle anyways. he is gonna call me when the new style adaptor is made, and i might be setting up a GP on them with a package deal for the oil adaptor too.

Re: Ecotec guys check this out

Well id want the oil adapter only... so not like the GP will help me.

Ive ways had doubts with this tb adapter. I have to agree with Tink, the throttle cable is going to be an issue. You might be ok if you swap to a ld9 cable. I couldn't be happier with the adapters from Tink's GP and they're well worth the extra money.

The oil adapter is a nice piece, I looked at that a while ago. I thought about getting one to run a remote filter so I don't have to make a mess taking the filter out from under the blower. And CBM is an excellent company to deal with, they make a quality product and their customer service is outstanding. I got fuel return line adapter from them...they're starting to pump out more ecotec support lately.

And the adaptor would be available still...I'll work out the details with them soon. The guy I spoke with had to ask a few others first. lol.

Why do you see it being an issue? It seems to be in the same general spot as the ECO TB cable wheel is after attaching to the S/C. I dont see it being too much of a different. The "stock" adaptor is 1/2 inch thick, and so is this one. It replaces the "stock" adaptor, so there is no added movement there. I know on my car, I still have an inch or two to play with when it comes to my cable. I just dont see it being an issue. The LS1 TB will be in vitrually the same spot as the L61 TB goes.

I like Tinkles adaptor, I just dont want the look of the tube and stuff there. I like the way it look "stock" and would like to keep it as close to that as possible.

It has to pull from the opposite direction with the LS1 TB and that was enough with my car to make it an unfavorable position.

Very cool.

Saw that oil filter adapter on ebay before, its actually on my must buy list, I'd be down for the oil filter adapter GP at least Chris.

Maybe the newer TB adapter if it actually works out well, I have your old one, as you know, lol, so I'm in no hurry to buy another unless fit and finish is close to stock like you surmise.

I would also purchase the oil filter adapter from a GP. Lemme know.

You know you guys, you can always rotate the whole blade assembly 180* so that it does pull from the same side.

saw this and wanted to check my tb that i have. where the throttle cable attaches to the ls1 tb is on the firewall side of the tb and needs to be on the radiator side so it pulls the throttle open. for how it's shown, the throttle cable would have to loop around and there isnt enough length to do that.

are the LD9 cables longer? and i know there are companies that make throttle cable extensions.

So flipping the throttle plate setup around (plate, cam, tps) is too simple for you guys?

do u mean like installing it upside down? that would work i guess. hell all you really have to do is do a 180 with the part the cable attaches to.

Re: Ecotec guys check this out

Not upside down. Take the tps off, pull the throttle plate out and spin the throttle cam 180* then put the throttle plate back in and put the tps on backwards.
