Hey everyone. I just read the library section and it suggests to add a relay for the manual override switch. In my old car, 94 Sunbird, I just spliced into the ground wire of the fan relay to one side of the toggle switch and the other side of the toggle switch to ground.
Is there a reason we have to add another relay to make the manual fan switch work, would it be more safe to do it this way as apposed to just grounding the existing fan relay? Just wondering, I have an 03 Cavalier btw, thanks for help mangs

More safe. It does work the other way.

If it was me, I wouldn't add another relay. No real point to it.
i find it amusing that SHOoff has nothing better to do but follow me around & be an unhelpful dick in even cross-forum. - Jon Mick
Ya, should be fine without the relay. I had it like this in my Sunbird for 4 years. I used it thousands of times in the summer months, the fan didn't come on on its own so I had to control it all the time.
