Where do I mount my AEROMOTIVE FPR??
Sunday, October 02, 2011 4:35 PM
Hey Guys,

Got my billet rail adapter from Hahn (I have the 2002 ecotec fuel rail) and bought an Aeromotive AFPR . Couldn't figure how to mount it and had to cancel my tuning appointment. I thought it would sit like the 03-05 guys, on the rail. But, no. I have to mount it unless I can find an elbow to fit the adapter and FPR then somehow make it sit on the rail.

Please see the below link for a bracket I found that fits this Aeromotive FPR # 13109. Not sure what size the bolt holding the bracket in place is. Where could I use this bracket or find one like it?

Thanks!

It makes no difference.... Where ever the lines can reach is where you can mount it lol

Yes it does. Strut tower isn't even. Strut bar in the way too. How did you mount it on abs?

Wow. $20 for that little "bracket"?

Seriously, just find a spot it fits, then run the fuel lines to it. It doesn't need to be bolted to the fuel rail to work.
.

I'll pay it right now if it fit. $20 is nothing, well not for me. If you guys know of even a $30 bracket lol....seriously, though what do you guys suggest I place this thing?

Mine is mounted to the drivers side shock tower, this is the 3rd and final place ive had it located. The feed to the regulator is coming in from the side that the picture isnt showing, and you see the return at the bottom of the regulator.

This is the other place I had it.

This is the first place I had it, you can see it down in front of the intake mani on the passenger side

There, you have ideas now lol

Dude seriously you are making this harder than it needs to be.

Make a bracket. You can get stuff from home depot to make one. Mount it where you want.

Thanks man, Yea I just used the bracket that came with the FPR. You can mount the thing anywhere since your using ss lines. Just try to keep it away from back of the engine lol

Whitecavy,

I followed your first picture. Sheet of metal where your MSD wires are attached to. I mounted my FPR on that. Looks good and and is super stable.

Everything is connected as of this am. Now, my fuel pressure gauge won't register. The manual says, turn the ignition on and off, wait a minute and repeat the procedure until the pressure registers. Mine is not registering at all. I am going to try to leave the ignition on for a while. Air in the lines, faulty pressure gauge even though its new! Or what is going on?

I have not cranked the car yet, until I see the gauge reading.

Thanks!

Where is your fuel pressure gauge hooked up too, the rail, or the AFPR?

Leaving the key on for a while won't do anything. The fuel pump primes for about 3-5 seconds on every key on, but then stops. So keep cycling the key on and off.

if you do not get pressure reading try starting the car. that is the easy way to find out if the gauge is right.

Ok. So, car wont crank. Im not building pressure in the system. For ex. I turn ignition to on unscrew fuel line from adapter and little fuel comes out. Fpr also slight fuel from loosened an fitting. No leak. No wonder gauge not registering.

Followed Bill Hahn's diagram to the tee.

So you have no fuel coming out of the supply line from the tank?

If so then you have a problem at the pump in the tank.

Brand new fuel pump. 400 miles on it. I must have put the adapter in wrong. Looks like the rail is divided in 2. 2 holes on adapter. I lined it all up!

make sure to use good quality braided fuel hose, i learned the hard way. Fuel permeation sucks, you ll have fuel smell all the time.

I have a braided hose but its not for the FPR!! Using high quality fuel hoses, like HIGH quality.

My guess fuel lines are backwards on regulator.

Re: Where do I mount my AEROMOTIVE FPR??

Ok. Tried it all. Fuel is coming out from feed and return lines. Fpr gauge has no reading still. Aeromotive's manual was followed.it is all connected correctly. I tried moving/rotating the adapter no luck. Car wont crank up.

The 02 fuel rail is divided in two. Two holes on the adapter makes sense. However, when lined up no gauge reading. Lined up the an fittings sit at 45 degrees. No clue here.
