Id try calling your local shops/dealer, or closest major cities and see what they are listing for prices, make sure to mention list price. That way you can compare to online prices etc.

Did you try importperformanceparts.net? They might have what you're looking for.

In my experience a huge chunk of the cost in a complete rebuild kit is the gasket set (around $300) and lifters (I have seen for as much as $20 each...so $320)

you can get new pistons at any local parts house for around $160 a set. only 96-98 dished style from the aftermarket though.

I would shop around, try Rock auto and Northern auto parts. They seem to have some good deals.

if you can get everything to rebuild an LD9 for $1000 definitely go with that... like cory said, lifters and gaskets alone if bought separately around like $600

Get the 99-01 pistons for lil more compression... I bought a head gasket engine set for 100 bucks shipped on here.

The reason ipperformance is so expensive is because your getting wiesco pistons and you can order them however you want. I think its actually a decent deal considering you get all gaskets, lifters and bearings. I did this for my first perfomance build.
