Im going to sound like a noob (cause I am) but would an Le5 header bolt on the l61? the reason i ask is that my current exhaust bolts on to my stock header but now I want an aftermarket header without having to redo my exhaust. and stumbled across
this anyone ever heard of them?
Ive done some searching and I heard something about the o2 sensor location being different but i dont know if thats correct or not. Also isn't it the same as the LSJ header? i mean it looks like it also does away with the "D" shaped ports to improve flow i just cant see any real differences... Anyway any help would be great! thanks!
It is the SAME header found on eBay for less...

Really? Well if i can get it cheaper id love that. but do you know if it will bolt on ok being that my current exhaust is bolted right on to the stock header?
Your answer was right on the website....
This 100% stainless steel header is a direct replacement for ALL Chevy Cobalt FWD engines: 2.0L/2.2L/2.4L.
2.2 is an L61 and a 2.4L is an LE5
The bad mab is a very common header in the cobalt community and has shown some very good gains over even the gmpp header.
I have also been curious if it will fit. I know itll fit the head but more if itll connect to our stock downpipe.
it will bolt right up.been there done that seen it happen a few times.

I should have given one side note: they have not started selling the 2.2 version yet, I was informed it would be at least a few months so i was wondering if I got the one for the 2.4 if it would bolt up ok and if it would flow any better.
EvoFire the Le5 will bolt on no problems? I know the body style for cobalts is a bit different so i wasnt sure if the space between the header and downpipe was different or not. Also will I need to do anything different to the o2 sensor?

Sorry but that doesnt look like an ecotec header...
the bad mab header will bolt directly to the stock down pipe on any 03+ equipped jbody. i promise
i have a cobalt ss header on my car as we speak.
the 2.4 will bolt right up? if so then Im sold.
Oh the lsj one will fit? or the Le5? or are they the same? They have the option for either the 2.4 or the lsj. ah I am confused. Sorry.
Oh hey also would the 4-1 DC sport header work?
Here? Its kind of pricey but it might be my best option...
Pacesetter for the 2.0L LSJ (70-1273/72C1273) will still be MUCH better than any "shorty header"

You're wondering which header will bolt on to the stock downpipe? What other mods do you have? Honestly you won't see much gains from a header without supporting mods. The Bad mab header looks like it'll fit and so does the DC sport one but i can't say Ive tried either one on a stock downpipe. Im not sure anyone has lol. Good luck with whatever you choose!
any header designed for any 2.0 2.2 or 2.4 ecotec motor HERE IN THE US will fit on any ecotec motor HERE IN THE US.
the only thing that will determine if you can use it or not is the rest of your exhaust.
if you have a otherwise stock exhaust, the bad mab header WILL bolt to it. i promise you this. that is what it was designed to do.
EvoFire thank you so much for your help! Not many people like taking the time to help a new guy out.
I hate to do this but I have to clarify a few things. I have heard that the engine bay for the LSJ is different so the header is a couple inches shorter making it unusable on our stock downpipe. Do you know if that is true? Also what exactly would the difference be between the 2.4 Le5 header and the LSJ one? i understand they will bolt to the engine but my concern is with the other side. So the bolt paterns are the same good but now my concern is will they even reach it?
Any header designed to directly replace the stock manifold and use the stock downpipe on any ecotec made between 2000 and 2007 in the united states will fit directly bolting on (and any ecotec that is a 2.2 or 2.4 from 2000 to current). Any header not designed to use the stock downpipe will need a custom downpipe made unless it is specifically sold for the cavalier/sunfire. I dont think I can make this post any more idiot proof.

Sorry. hopefully this is a less idiotic question: would the 3 inch collector be overkill since i just have an intake/exhaust? Would a 2 1/4 be better? my exhaust is a 2.5 header-back.
optionally 2.5 inch. But you get what you get. I would have a hard time choosing between 3 or 2.25 on a bolt on's car.

Awww. Ok. yeah the only two that i can find which will work for what Im hoping to do are one with 2 1/4 and one with 3. I think im going to try the 2 1/4 because its ceramic coated and closer to the pacesetter one which I wanted until i realized it didnt just bolt on. thanks for the help everyone and sorry i asked so many questions. just wanted to make sure i got the right thing.
